Tulsa Police Department CompStat Meetings

The next Tulsa Police Department CompStat meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, February 24, at 9:00 AM. These department-wide CompStat meetings are held in the TPD CompStat Center located in Police Headquarters at 911 Civic Center Drive. Upon arrival, enter the building from the parking garage through the north-facing doors and take the red elevator immediately inside the building to the second floor.

All department-wide CompStat meetings are open to the public. Operational strategies to address emerging real-time crime trends throughout the city’s neighborhoods are discussed and reviewed by TPD staff at these meetings. While these working operational meetings are open to the public, the floor is not open to public discussion during the individual sessions. Tulsa Police staff, however, will be happy to answer questions before and after the meeting and during breaks as needed. TPD staff may also address the floor during the sessions regarding questions that are submitted during these breaks. These meetings are an excellent opportunity to address the individual needs of your community and provide much-needed insight into issues that may be unique to your neighborhoods.

If you need directions or further information regarding the Tulsa Police CompStat meetings, please contact Officer Thomas Bell at 918-596-1679 or at tbell@cityoftulsa.org .

Available Neighborhoods Resource Program:

C.ompassion A.round R.esidents in our E.nvironment

CARE was developed in response to the needs of the neighborhood community.  It is designed to facilitate an easy transition for volunteers to address those needs and interface with social services and community volunteer organizations to form a rounded approach to assist those neighbors in need without a complete burden on any one participant.

It is comprised of: a volunteer CARE committee (local faith based representative & concerned neighbors), neighborhood, school, community volunteers, and social service agencies.

The goal is to be a bridge to avoid vulnerable individuals falling through the cracks until their situation improves or they start receiving assistance from an agency.  The committee will use common sense and caring to evaluate the length of time someone is in the CARE program and to what extent CARE is needed.  The committee will also make a caring and careful decision on referrals to the program.

Training is available to volunteer neighborhood CARE leaders and their committee.

Some topics are:

Training:

Program and Committee Definition

Disaster Assistance component and tips

How to set up a “CARE Tool Bank”

Volunteers: Who can you call for assistance?

Practical Information:

Referral Sources / Speakers Bureau

More referral sources and CARE tips

Contacts: Lists of CARE group contact information

Resources:

Collection of Social Services Information and Applications to educate yourselves and your neighbors.
